The prototypes were first developed in 1996. While the concept has evolved over the years, its core ideas remain remarkably viable. Several elements of the science and technology have since advanced and are now actively in use.
The collaborative scientific team that worked with me included Marvin Minsky, Max More, Robert Freitas, Alexander Sasha Chislenko, Vernor Vinge, Hans Moravec, and Robin Hanson, and the longevity scientific team included Roy Walford, Greg Fahy, and Michael Rose.
